FACILITIES
FATWOOD is a combination of common space and private studios for our members.
There are two studio buildings/workspaces, a microcinema in development and future residency program. We are seeking members to support this expanded vision of community, shared resources and collaboration.
THE STUDIO BUILDING
The STUDIO BUILDING has three private work spaces, shared washroom, kitchenette and a huge communal gathering space that can be used for daytime workspace, meetings, exhibitions, public events and gatherings.
The industrial polished concrete floors and 13 foot ceilings make this space ideal for artists, entrepreneurs, media makers with a robust studio practice.

THE ANNEX
The ANNEX has two private work spaces, shared washroom and a foyer. Decked out in recycled tobacco factory flooring, the Annex is a warm, inviting and bright workspace perfect for a small business or media maker.

FATWOOD offers space, equipment and support to designers, artists, craftspeople and small emerging businesses. Located in rural Chapel Hill, North Carolina, FATWOOD is building a set of facilities for its members and the local community. FATWOOD wants to support and grow practitioners in the NC art and design community.

HELP GROW THE FATWOOD VISION
Facilities in development are a woodshop, microcinema, event and exhibition space. FATWOOD is also collaborating on workshops and training with its sister organization UnionDocs, based in Brooklyn, NYC.
COMMUNITY & RESOURCES
At the core of FATWOOD is creatives working in parallel with opportunities to work in collaboration. We dream of a collection of members with interdisciplinary practices and a spirit to expand through dialogue and shared projects.

Our unique complex is located at 2302 Ivey Road, Chapel Hill, North Carolina. FATWOOD is located in the NC countryside, around the corner from an arborist and local farms, FATWOOD is secluded from distractions while conveniently located within an 11 minute drive to downtown Carborro and its many amenities. The fresh air and open space make FATWOOD an ideal location for focus and new ideas to spark.
